Arrived at 10:20 am when they supposedly opened at 9 am(All websites said they opened at 9am). Door to their market building was unlocked. We walked in to a dark room and nobody was around. Good thing we are honest and trustworthy people...we could have taken whatever we wanted and left. Irritated, I wanted some farm fresh eggs and some other goodies.
This is a small family owned business. They have chickens, peacocks, bunny and ponys. There's a walking trail, pumpkins and a cool little store in the old barn. They have apple cider, huge cookies, ice cream. They sell maple syrup and other things. Not busy, but very nice❣
We we're looking for a farm that was in the Byron Center/Caledonia area, and decided to try it out. I'm really glad we did! The kids had a great time feeding the goats, seeing ducks, peacocks, chickens, etc. They had a free wagon ride which was the perfect length. They had multiple stands that kids can poke their head through and take a picture. They had a good selection of pumpkins...there were a lot of BIG pumpkins, perfect for carving. I didn't do much shopping, but they had some HUGE cookies that were only $1.50 each. We'll definitely be back before the end of the season...especially since it's so close to us. It's not an amusement park like Klackles...it's a farm, which is what we were looking for l and it ended up being a perfect morning!
Hay rides are free so is the petting zoo. Corn maze $2. Everything else is inexpensive. Nice barn with apple cider and all kinds of stuff. Cheap day with the kids.
The animals are poorly kept. We saw two rabbits without any access to food. All of the water fowl were in an enclosure that reeked of urine and feces, obviously not cleaned or maintained. The chicken coop was overstocked and we saw a dead chicken being pecked by the other chickens. I have lived on a farm and owned rabbits. The conditions those animals are living in is not normal.
